"Changing Lives, That's Our Church's Wider Mission" is more than a slogan or phrase; it is the lifeblood of ministry and mission in the United Church of Christ. Thank you for your support of the many local and global ministries provided through your contributions to this offering of our covenant together. Our covenant as local churches, associations, conferences and the national settings of our denomination is made evident through this mission together. What is it? Our Church’s Wider Mission (often abbreviated OCWM) is the name we give in the United Church of Christ to everything we do together as a church. Our Church’s Wider Mission funds your UCC Conference and the national ministries of the UCC. Our Church’s Wider Mission has two components: Basic Support, for the funding of core programs; and Special Support, for specific mission opportunities through the four UCC special mission offerings. Helping individuals and churches to connect to each other’s mission trip experiences. This section is currently under construction. Check back soon for an interactive page which will allow you to post information about mission trips that you are doing and search information about other church’s trips. 3. Connecting congregations to one another’s mission fields and other resources by hosting a “Mission Fair” as part of the 2011 SE Association Annual Meeting. All congregations are encouraged to create a small booth which highlights one or two mission projects your church is doing that other churches would be interested in learning about. Think of it as a “Best Practices” sharing display. You may want to have brochures or fliers to hand out, create a photo board, or in some other way communicate one or two interesting mission projects your church works on. Churches that see your display will be interested in two major things – who you serve, and how you serve. Is there a group of people or agency that you serve that others may not have thought of? Are you going about your mission work in a particularly creative way that others might emulate? Contact Rev.
