Administration Team
WOW!Dr. Seuss said: “Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.” This is pretty much the attitude your Administrative Team has taken this year as we fully transition into a new way of how we organize the work of the Association. We understand the rich history and the importance of this Association these last 50 years. We are, however, dedicated to move on into new relationships and to have new conversations about what role the Association plays in the life of the member churches and its covenantal relationship with the Conference. Rev. Kent Ulery and your Church and Ministry Team will continue to do the vital work charged to each Association in the United Church of Christ: authorize standing for churches and ministers in the Association and to assist the churches and ministers who may be in crisis. Their plate is even fuller now with the additional task of being responsible for the registrar information (pastor status and church status). The Mission and Educational Teams are finding new ways to be relevant to the churches coming from some very effective years of implementing programs that the churches can use. Mission project exchanges and Camping Scholarships continue to be major thrusts. The Administration Team is realizing that communication is and will become ever important as we continue. To disseminate information quickly and to the right people will be worked upon this coming year. Our web site is getting better and our DASH (a bi-weekly most of the time newsletter) is being distributed in a better format that is easier to assess. With this priority of communication in mind, I have been visiting our Association churches since September of 2011. My message that I try to bring is two fold: That each church is valued for their ministry to each other and to their community. And secondly, they are not alone in this ministry; they are supported by 55 other churches ministering in similar and different ways and by an Association that can give them resources as they witness to the Gospel. 50 years – Wow! Bring on the next 50! In Peace Dick Betts For more information about the Administration Team, contact:
